From Santa Fe:
Take HWY 84/285 North from Santa Fe to Española.
Once in Española, take a LEFT at Fairview Lane/Veterans Memorial Road. This is the intersection with the Bank of America on your LEFT & Walgreens on your RIGHT. It should be the 7th set of traffic lights, counting from the lights at the Dream Catcher Cinema.
Cross the Rio Grande, and continue straight, up hill to the next set of lights. Turn RIGHT at these lights, rejoining HWY 84/285 towards Abiquiu. This is a 4 lane highway. Drive for 5.6 miles to where the 4 lane highway ends (narrows to a 2 lane). There is a Chevron gas station on your right and take the RIGHT turn there to Ojo Caliente.
From that turn, continue for 17.9 miles until you reach the intersection with State Road 111. You will pass through Ojo Caliente in about 16 miles. Go ALLLLL the way through Ojo Caliente, continuing North until you see State Road 111, marked on your left - turn LEFT on 111. (it is the first left out of Ojo Caliente, on a hill, with signs for Mesa Vista high school, El Rito and of course, the local landmark, the large "PIGS" sign).
Felipe's house is exactly 5.2 miles from that intersection, just after the pink house in La Madera. The sign on the light pole outside the house reads "Owl Peak Pottery & Studio". Turn LEFT into the driveway.
From Taos
Go south on HWY 68 to Pilar. Turn RIGHT onto the Rio Grande Scenic Road (State Road 567), North to John Dunn Bridge, about 7 miles.
Cross the river and head up the canyon to Carson. Once on top of the Mesa, you will be back on Black Top road and drive exactly 8 miles to US 285.
Turn LEFT onto 285 and go exactly 9 miles to State Road 111.
Turn RIGHT onto Rt 111 and go north EXACTLY 5.2 miles on 111. Felipe's
house is exactly 5.2 miles from that intersection, just after the pink
house in La Madera. The sign on the light pole outside the house reads "Owl
Peak Pottery & Studio". Turn LEFT into the driveway.
Alternative:
Through Okhay Owingeh/San Juan, from North (Taos, Dixon)
Take Hwy 68 south.
Take the right at San Juan/Okhay Owingeh onto NM-74 . This is the turn
near the large white water tower.
Continue on NM-74 until it meets 56A. At this point, NM-74 veers left and NM-56A is straight ahead.Take NM-56A. It is a narrow road and twisty, so be careful.
Where it intersects with HWY-285, after about 2 miles, turn right (north) towards Ojo Caliente.
Pass Ojo in about 15 miles... 2 miles or so, after Ojo, you'll see RT. 111 - turn left on 111. (it is the first left out of Ojo Caliente, on a hill, with signs for Mesa Vista high school, El Rito and of course, the local landmark, the large "PIGS" sign).
You can clock the distance from there. it's 5.2 miles to felipe's house. Felipe's house is on your left, just past a pink house. There's a sign out front that says Owl Peak Pottery, and the phone number there is 505- 583-2345.
